My Mantra
Over the Christmas period I lost a family member that I was very close to, my Grandad. The emotions I went through became a very strong motivator when out on my long runs. This had me thinking about all the wise words my Grandad gave me, and about how he led his life.
My Grandad was the head of the family, a wise man who said he was never board and always had something to do. He used to ferry his four Grandchildren around to different activities through out the week and still managed to find time to go fishing. He went through a lot as a child, and never dwelled on this.
As I was out on a run, thinking about my Grandad, using my emotions to push me further and faster the words "Feel Strong, Be Brave" came to mind. These words seem to spur me on that little bit more and remind me, even if it sounds corny, even though my Grandad is no longer here, he is in a better place cheering me on.
Thank you Grandad. X
